The Duke of Zterre is throwing a gala.  Counselors and courtiers and hangers-on of every kind are all in attendance.  The night is young, the liquor is flowing, and the music is perfect for dancing.

It's just too bad you're here on assignment - as junior ambassador, you're here to persuade the duke and his followers of the error of their ways.  Ways like imprisoning your queen's merchants and travelers for no reason at all.

But there's more than diplomacy on the soft desert wind.  You'll need your weapons as well as your wits to survive what the duke has planned - and to save as many of the others as you can.

Good luck!

Cool Stuff Inside:

  • Four main companions whose allegiance is NOT guaranteed.  I'm not one of those lazy writers who makes sure every choice makes the brainless companion happy.   It is quite easy to miss out on information (or worse) by making a different choice.  Be warned!
  • Lots of weapons and lots of monsters and lots of fun ways to kill monsters with weapons.
  • Real choices - do you help this person or run that way - that make you feel alive, and absolutely will get other characters killed, and will leave you wondering 'what if?' by the time you finish the game.
  • Be the hero you always wanted to be - save innocents, charge evil sorcerers, face down a giant golem with nothing but a carving knife.    This is my kind of heroic fantasy.

Feedback, comments, and input welcome! This is the first piece I've put up, and I'm always looking to improve.

Please Note:  This is just the demo - full version coming soon!  About 15% of the game included.

Content Warnings: The game is 100% text; there are no images or audio.  Inside, you'll find:

- A fair amount of blood and violence.  "You plunge your sword into the monster's neck" and "Black blood pools under the corpse" are pretty representative.

- Fantasy monsters: golems, animated skeletons, and "nightwolves" (think werewolves), who do lots of fantasy violence.  "The golem gnaws on a torn-off limb as it raises its giant bronze cleaver".

- Mild sexual themes and innuendo.  "Her lips taste of sunshine and sweat" is as detailed as it gets.
